They will include vocabulary, identification of key historical figures, places and resources along with other significant event questions. Tests / Writing Assignments: Tests will be announced in advance and usually given at the end of a chapter or unit section. Writing includes note taking, analysis and expository essay writing also vocabulary definitions.
All work is to be presented on the due date. I am not interested in late work. If you fail to show or present, it is a zero. In the case of illness or absence, you are still responsible for finding out and completing all work. All essays and other homework written assignments are to be typed unless otherwise noted. Oral Research Project Presentations: Individual and group project opportunities will be assigned. The expectation will be for you to prepare to speak in front of your peers and other groups as well.
Homework / class work and participation: Homework is used to reinforce what we learn in class. Expect homework on most weekdays. As stated above, homework is to be presented or submitted when it is due. It is to be neat, legible and proof-read. Spelling and grammar counts!
Class behavior and expectations: All work counts. Use your time wisely. Do not waste it. Come to class prepared with all required materials. There will be NO going back and forth to lockers to get homework, notebooks, or pens. Go to the lavatory on your own time. If you are not present when I take attendance, then you are late.
Required materials: Writing tools, especially working blue or black ink pens, study packets, notebook*
Work missed due to absence: If you have been absent from class, it is YOUR responsibility to keep up and to get the work you are missing and it should be completed upon your return. IMPORTANT TO KEEP YOUR TEXTBOOK AT HOME. Take care and keep track of your textbook. You will receive an “F” for the course if you do not hand in your assigned numbered textbook at the end of the semester. Remember that this class is a graduation requirement. The replacement book fee is $75.00 |
